Two things to know about CHARIS
Different countries can be in different states — Operating, Reduced, Suspended, Watching. Posture is per country, set by you, audit-logged, and can flip over time as the situation evolves.
Each country has its own departure triggers (when to leave) and re-entry triggers (when to come back). You configure both from the trigger catalogue, and each side is scored as a percentage of the triggers you have actively selected for that country and direction.
Setting up a country
Setup happens on the Configuration page, four steps per country in order: add the country; pick the posture (Operating, Reduced, Suspended or Watching — the posture decides which classification table is the headline reading, see the Methodology posture section); pick triggers (LEAVE, ENTER, BOTH or off per trigger, or apply the Sicuro Recommended Profile and tune from there); then confirm the distribution list and personnel manifest and save.
The first time a country is saved, a baseline assessment streams to your Dashboard — each country card appears as soon as the evaluation finishes.
When something changes
Three things drive what you see and what gets emailed once a country is being monitored: state-change emails (one per country whenever its risk band moves or its posture flips, with a magic link straight to the relevant country card); the what-changed-since-last-cycle banner on each country card listing triggers that flipped and the previous LEAVE/ENTER percentages; and posture changes you make yourself from Configuration, every one of which is audit-logged.
The typical degradation path is Operating → Reduced → Suspended as conditions worsen; the recovery path is the reverse as re-entry triggers turn green. Watching is for countries you are not operating in but want to keep an eye on.
Reading the Dashboard
The Dashboard is laid out top-to-bottom by urgency: a top banner with the worst-priority signal across every monitored country; country cards grouped by posture (Operating and Reduced first, then Suspended with re-entry readiness as the headline, then Watching); trigger boxes you can hover for the threshold and click for a detail drawer with the current status, source citation and a 7-day history strip; and a configuration completion meter top-right that jumps you to whatever setup is outstanding.
Personnel manifest (PII-free)
The manifest is anonymous group counts only — CHARIS does not store names, passport numbers, employee IDs or any other personal data. Each row captures an optional group label, a role, a target country, an optional current location, a composition of staff / dependants / minors counts, and a medical or mobility-restricted flag for re-entry priority.
There are no per-group statuses: each group inherits the posture of its target country at read-time, so the rollup always reflects the live country state. Each user owns their own manifest — other accounts in your organisation cannot see it.
Reports & schedule
A daily baseline runs at 06:00 GST (02:00 UTC): the scheduler fetches live alert, airspace and border data, evaluates your selected triggers, and records a fresh result for every monitored country alongside the daily PDF. State-change alerts go out when something materially changes; a weekly digest is opt-in from Account Settings.
The PDF report is an ISO 22301:2019-aligned document covering methodology, per-country trigger assessment, narratives, recommendations, communication protocol, recovery priorities, the re-entry assessment, the change set since the last run, sources and appendices. Re-entry readiness updates go to a separate distribution list for commercial, BD and HR teams.
Privacy & data
Configuration, manifest, posture choices, distribution list and frequency settings are scoped to your own user account with no cross-tenant visibility. Every breach decision is backed by a specific source citation captured at decision time and surfaced in the trigger detail drawer, the daily PDF and the per-country narrative. Account data export and deletion are available from your Account page; see the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for the full policies.
